UPDATED 1/10/2007 William R. Stanek (williamstanek@aol.com) has a master of science in information systems degree and over 20 years of hands-on experience with advanced programming and development. He is a leading network technology expert and an award winning author. Over the years, his practical advice has helped programmers, developers and network engineers all over the world. From 1996-1998, he was also a regular contributor to leading publications like PC Magazine. He has written 65 books. His books include Microsoft Windows 2000 Administrator's Pocket Consultant, FrontPage 2000 Unleashed, Microsoft SQL Server 7.0 Administrator's Pocket Consultant and Netscape Guide to the Mozilla Source Code.
William has been involved in the commercial Internet community since 1991 and has been working with Windows NT since 1992. Before that he worked mostly with Unix networks and that's where he mastered scripting the Bourne, Korn, and C shells. Lately, he has been doing advanced research and development for Windows Vista, Exchange 2007 Server and SQL Server 2005. His core networking experience comes from over 11 years of military service. In 1995, he started his own consulting company, which specializes in developing medium and large-scale Web sites. During 1998 and 1999, he worked as a senior member of the technical staff at Intel Corporation's iCat e-commerce division.
